Richard Jameson
10U/5th Grade Green Team


 
General BackgroundCoach Jameson grew up in Washington, DC and attended Archbishop John Carroll High School where he played one year of junior varsity basketball.  Richard attended Hampton University (Institute), in Hampton, VA for two years and he is currently completing his undergraduate studies at The Catholic University of America - Metropolitan College in the District of Columbia.  Coach Jameson currently work in the Federal government at the U.S. Department of Education as a Program Management/Analyst in the Office of Postsecondary Education.

Coaching Experience
This will be Coach Jameson's third year as a Matrix coach.  During both the 2007 and 2008 seasons he coached the Matrix he coached the 9U Green team.  During the 2007-2008 FCYBL season, Richard served as an assistant coach for the Arlington Travel 10U Division 1 team. 

Coach Jameson began coaching youth basketball in the CYO league in Washington, DC at Holy Comforter/St. Cyprian School where he was an assistant coach for the 7th and 8th grade boys team.  Before joining the Matrix, Richard was an assistant coach for two years with Team Sol 1993 (14U) girls national team.

Coaching Philosophy
Coach Jameson believes in having a good relationship with players as effective communication is crucial to teaching or instruction.  A strong emphasis on fundamental skill development, tough defense and team effort are what Coach Jameson focuses on with his teams.  He likes to stress discipline and good decision making, and hard work to produce quality players.
