Coach Britney Anderson
Head Coach
2010-2011 Matrix Thunder

General Background

Coach Britney Anderson played college basketball at Virginia Tech from 2003-2007, following a stellar high school career in Virginia.  She was named the 2002 Virginia State Player of the Year in leading Blacksburg High School to the 2002 VA AA State Championship, and was also named the 2001 VA AAA State Player of the Year in leading Meadowbrook High School to the VA AAA State Semifinals.

She also has playing experience in both Spain and Australia on different tours with Virginia Tech and Athletes In Action.  Currently, Britney is employed as a recruiter at M.C. Dean, Inc. where she has worked since 2007.

Coaching Experience and Philosophy:
In addition to her extensive playing background, Coach Anderson has served as the Blacksburg Middle School head coach in 2007-2008, and as the Potomac Falls High School assistant varsity coach in 2009-2010.  Coach Anderson also has experience as an AAU coach for the past three years.

Her coaching philosophy is simple:  for players to improve their individual and team skills and understanding of the game, to learn how to win and how to lose as a team, and to gain a deeper appreciation for the game of basketball.  She looks forward to being a part of the Matrix coaching staff and helping high school players prepare for the next level.

Coach Anderson can be reached by e-mail at or by cell at 540.818.6002.
